Who is inspirational? Well, all of YOU are!

I was delighted when Inspirational Storytellers, the brain-child of Lynne Maree, asked if I would be a guest on their Blog Talk Radio programme.

We hoped to talk to Lifestyle reviewer Susan Livingston, but connectivity meant this wasn’t possible. But it was lovely just knowing that three of our group were ‘there’.

Meet – Janice Horton Susan Livingston

It surprised, and delighted me, to be referred to as ‘inspirational’. My novels often feature a psychic theme and in doing that I hope to encourage readers to think about life and what is beyond. But inspirational? My interpretation would be that I’m energetic, I love to share knowledge with other people and I’m a compulsive starter/finisher. But writing was my dream from a very young age and when the chance came to pursue it, I grabbed it with two hands!

Naturally, setting up http://loveahappyending.com/ in June 2011 was a big event for me and it’s my passion. It has taken over my life. But the ‘inspirational’ part of that isn’t down to me – it’s down to the wonderful members of the group (authors, guests and amazing Lifestyle book reviewers) who make it come alive.

Loveahappyending transitioned on 17 February 2013, to become an online lifestyle magazine – Loveahappyending Lifestyle, celebrating all the good and positive things in life. So you will find everything from wonderful places to visit, interior design ideas, relationship advice, Bookshelf reviews – introducing some exciting new books, writing tips, craft ideas, film reviews, recipes …. a whole host of fun posts!

When it comes to talking about my writing and my books, what I enjoy most is talking about the ‘connection’ I’ve found with readers. The psychic experiences I feature are all based on things that have actually happened to me, from a very early age, and I continue to be amazed at the emails I receive. People who read one of my novels and then seek me out to tell me their own ‘personal experience’. Often telling someone for the very first time, but feeling they can trust me and that I will understand. It’s humbling. So maybe we are all inspirational – but it’s opening up and talking to each other, sharing, that turns something into a truly special moment.

Richard HolmesPersonally, a great friend, author, medium and one of the Inspirational Storytellers team – Richard Holmes, has been a ‘mentor’. Richard introduced me to meditation and attending several of his gayatri mantra sessions opened my eyes to many things. He’s also brought through messages from my mother and father, with validation that was so personal no one could have known the information they shared. It was reassuring and a part of my own journey from being a sceptic to believing that our loved ones are always with us!

If Skype quality had been better, I’d hoped to talk about the difference meeting Richard has made to the way I coped with ‘accepting’ what I’d spent so many years avoiding… however, you can find out more about Richard here:
