I was nervous releasing Being A Sceptic Is Oh So Easy on Kindle. It isn’t fiction, it’s the real thing: an insight into my personal psychic journey – except that I’m not a psychic or a medium. You can see my dilemma. I wondered if it was going to be something people would want to read; whether it would strike a chord with others out there who have ‘lost a loved one’ and felt a presence after their passing, or had an experience that they couldn’t explain away. I’m more apprehensive than with my debut fiction novel Touched By The Light which was released in February 2011. Yes, it is about life after death and yes, it does feature some of my real-life experiences, but it’s a STORY, about a young woman named Mya. Being A Sceptic Is Oh So Easy is about ME.
So I was surprised to see I had feedback this morning – putting my Email address at the end of the book was a good move! It seems there are people out there like me – to whom it’s a very personal thing and I’ve learnt something valuable. The people who have contacted me having read my story (by Email, of course, not through the spirit world), were only just starting out on their own path of discovery. They are clearly at the stage where they are beginning to ask questions, rather than ignore it all and hope it quietly goes away. So what that has taught me is that no matter what stage you are at in your life, there is always someone ahead of you and always someone behind you. If you are passionate about something then share it, because your journey may help others in their quest to move forward. There is a flood of information out there on this subject, but reading is one thing, believing is another. It’s all about the ‘why’ and real-life examples rather than theories.
As I begin the next part of my journey I will be following a daily routine of meditation and this has been inspired by my friendship with Richard F Holmes, the medium, healer and teacher of spiritual awareness. You can visit Richard at http://www.richardfholmes.co.uk/, his welcome is very friendly! Click on the link and you will see for yourself. He is a very down to earth guy (pun intended).
So my day started well, responding to feedback from readers who connected with me and plans to ‘get myself sorted’ so I can start my new meditation regime. Then I had to take a detour via Facebook to respond to lovely comments from FB friends following the launch of Being A Sceptic Is Oh So Easy. That was when I spotted Louie http://raw-dog-blog.blogspot.com/ and it made me realise one thing that I was in danger of forgetting in the midst of my hectic morning. Aside from being astounded by his writing ability, he reminded me that life is made up of a series of moments. Some are really serious and life-changing, others are simply there to bring us a sense of peace and happiness. A reminder to be grateful when the sun shines, when someone makes you smile or some small thing you do helps make someone else’s day. So thank you Louie, and long may you continue to blog…..
Life is wonderful, isn’t it? I also hear that the afterlife is a lot better than it’s made out to be …….
