The stars will always factor in the way I live my life (no. 4)

This is the final post in a feature of four articles (article 1, article 2, article 3) looking with hindsight at what my horoscope forecasts have been telling me since 2008.  Because it’s been a period during which my life has changed beyond all recognition, it has indeed been a true test of what those incredible (and at times, barely believable) forecasts were saying.  I like the quote ‘never say never’ simply because you NEVER know what is coming. Even when your forecasts alert you to major changes, it’s often difficult to see what’s happening because we all tend to get bogged down by the small things in life. Minute details that really don’t matter at all in the grand scheme!  Wisdom is having the ability to stand back and see the bigger picture ….

Gemini, forecast for the month of June 2011

Your Monthly Forecast: (extract) There is nothing ordinary or normal about the situation you now face. If you can’t yet see what’s so special about it, keep watching and thinking. Somewhere in your world, an amazing coincidence is occurring. It is as significant as it is almost uncanny. Maybe, you can understand what I mean by all the above but you’re not at all convinced that any of it is good. Stay calm. June’s rare, powerful alignments insist that, whether or not you like what’s going on, it can’t be happening by accident.

Real life:  Two coincidences now stand out as being totally amazing.  The first one was my youngest son introducing me to Vil Pietersen, he invited me to ‘trial’ his online tutorial in setting up a website and establishing a social media presence.  Prior to December 2010 I didn’t even understand the terminology, I was a PC user but I wasn’t on Twitter or Facebook and I didn’t have a website.  Within four weeks of following the tutorial I had set up two websites – linnbhalton.co.uk and loveahappyending.com. The latter because I saw how much work it involved for a new writer establishing an online presence and I immediately thought ‘what a waste, everyone re-inventing the same wheel’. That’s how the idea came about for an author/reader project. Vil taught me the skills I needed to set that up and run the website without any outside help whatsoever. Coincidence number one.

Shaz's StarsThe second coincidence was meeting the awesomely talented blogger and book reviewer  Shaz Goodwin of Jera’s Jamboree. We met on Twitter and quickly discovered we shared a lot of interests – astrology being one of them. This resulted in what was to be a major feature on the newly-set up loveahappyending.com. Shaz’s stars was born! Author Lun Kikogne provided the graphics and Shaz’s interviews began. You can catch them all here: http://loveahappyending.co.uk/shaz-goodwin/ . It was an amazing series and Shaz even looked at what the stars were saying at the moment we went ‘live’. Here is a summary of that very detailed report:

The POTENTIAL of this new project, launch day 29 June 2011:

loveahappyending.com“The sun, which shows the purpose of the group, is in Cancer and it’s sitting on the cusp between the 4th and 5th house, so importantly for loveahappyending.com, that reinforces the exact nature of the group.

The house that shows partnerships is Libra. This shows the groups strong need to have others play an important part in its affairs. The group wants to influence the way others think. The group’s aim is to achieve more than most. Eventually, loveahappyending.com will carve its own identity, making it something special.

Important for writing and publishing is Gemini on the cusp of the 3rd house, Mercury is its ruler. Gemini and Mercury are right at home here: acquaintances/neighbours (community), writing and communications, news and rumours, personal advertising and publicity. The third house is the house of communication. Sagittarius (also at home here) – enterprise, energy, versatility, adventure, extending experience, open to new dimensions and thoughts, optimistic, strong morals/ethics, intuitive, original, philosophy, higher travel of the mind. 9th house = publishing, publicity, advertising.

How the world will see loveahappyending.com is shown by the Ascendant of the event chart (the sign that was rising on the horizon when the button was pushed). The Ascendant is Pisces. Neptune rules Pisces which shows the imagination of the group. A two-edged sword. I think this shows how much imagination there is involved in the project!

The Midheaven represents the world out there – reputation, career, status, business. The Midheaven of the chart is ruled by Sagittarius which shows the group will be good at looking into the future and seeing the best direction for where they want to go. This placement shows movement, beginning new projects before the old ones have ended. The group will thrive on challenges.

In conclusion, the group should trust its intuition, and be open and honest in what it’s all about. Beliefs create the reality. Along with this respect comes a responsibility. Succeed here, and the world will reward loveahappyending.com with increasing authority and responsibility as well as recognition and prestige.”

Well, the project continues and on 17 February 2013 loveahappyending became:

Website right (1024x363)

It now has a sister website:

No one could foresee that it would still exist nearly two years on! We have changed with the times, shared a lot of knowledge and some ‘new’ authors have gained a following of happy readers. Without the enthusiasm of the authors and reviewers involved this would not have been possible. Shaz’s overview, in hindsight, was amazing! So I wanted to ask Shaz a few questions of my own:

Why were you drawn to astrology in the first place?

It wasn’t just Astrology that drew me in Linn. I’ve been interested in finding out about all sorts of divination tools for as long as I can remember. My thinking behind this was how amazing it would be if there was a tool that could guide us! Of course the ultimate decision is up to you…

Astrology is the only divination tool that affected me on a deep level. When I started studying (about 22 years ago) there were no computer programmes, all the mathematical workings out were done by hand, as were drawing up the charts. I think this gives you a more in-depth knowledge than just typing in your details and co-ordinates then seeing it appear on the screen. There are many levels to Astrology – it isn’t just about where the planets were at your time of birth, the houses they are in and the aspects they make to each other. The planets transit your natal chart; the sun precesses which has an affect; the elements/cardinal/fixed/mutable energies all have an effect too; solar returns (a chart at the time when the sun reaches the exact place of your birth each year and are different every year); composite/synastry charts (how one person’s nativity effects another), midpoints; Vedic Astrology, and more. Horary Astrology is fascinating – drawing a chart at the exact moment a querent (the person asking the question) asks a question. Astrological charts can be read from many perspectives as well – psychological, spiritual, mundane…

Do you follow your own daily forecasts?

No, not daily. I do my Solar Return each year and when I feel the need will compare my nativity to transiting planets to try to gain an insight. However, I do receive emails that are based on my personal nativity for transits from Star IQ http://www.stariq.com/pagetemplate/main.asp and have done for years. I also read Susan Miller’s monthly report for my Rising sign (also known as Ascendant). http://astrologyzone.com/ The timings can be out because of the house system – I compare the degrees of where the planets are and where they fall in my house. It’s always good to get another perspective and Susan Miller is always accurate.

Why do you think many people read them but can’t identify with what’s being said?

The ‘popular’ forecasts in papers/magazines/online do not take into account the whole chart, so they’re not personal… they’re based on Sun Signs. Rising signs are just as important (the sign on the Eastern horizon when your were born) and if you know yours you should read that sign also! They’re also based on the Quadrant house system, which means the same amount of degrees for each house. Personally I prefer to use the Placidus house system but there are others http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_(astrology). Our personal planets add depth and colour, for instance, your moon sign and it’s placing/aspects determines how you react on an emotional level, and for each of us that will be different.

Do you have any favourite star signs?

I don’t have a single favourite – but I love the energy of the Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) This element is the weakest in my chart … I get to learn a lot from them!

Do you find you are drawn towards people from a specific star sign when making new friends?

I’ve found the strongest connections with others are with those who have the same Moon sign as me. On a lighter level, I think we’re all attracted to different signs when we need them in life!

Shaz, I stand in awe of your skill and knowledge. A personal thanks on behalf of our website project for the excitement your interviews brought at a time when we were feeling our way forward!

I have followed Jonathan Cainer daily for more years than I care to admit and I regularly refer to a birth chart reading he did for me in June 2010, that is still playing out – I have to say, with incredible accuracy. It’s true I wrote The Quintessential Gemini because of my interest in astrology, but I don’t live my life according to the daily horoscope that pops into my inbox from Jonathan’s 5* website service. I simply thought it was a great idea to write a romance novel about a woman who did. However, I am guided by my forecast sometimes where it tells me the planets are favourable, when I have a big decision to make, or when there’s a warning. On several occasions he’s told me to pull back from something and let the dust settle before moving foward.

In truth, Loveahappyending Lifestyle emagazine would not be here today if it wasn’t for Jonathan’s forecast back in 2011. Things were happening that seemed coincidental, as Jonathan put it ‘it can’t be happening by accident…’. He’d already convinced me in 2009 that writing was going to be a very real part of my future. Now that seems obvious, then it seemed like an impossible dream….

Along the way I’ve met some wonderfully energetic people who have thrown themselves into a project ‘to see what happens’. I’ve made some amazing friends and been fortunate enough to have some great reviews. All I can say is, well Jonathan, what’s next?
